Visiting Santa Barbara With Celiac Disease

Best Gluten Free Dining in Santa Barbara, CA

This post is not sponsored by any of the restaurants below. I’m truly just a fan of these places!

Santa Barbara is one of the most picturesque towns in California. Nestled along California’s coastline, Santa Barbara captivates with its Spanish architectural allure, expansive beaches, and a thriving cultural ambiance. The historic State Street beckons with fun shops and delicious dining – including gluten free dining.

Here are some of the amazing gluten free restaurants I tried in Santa Barbara, CA:

Lilac Patisserie

1017 State Street

Lilac Patisserie is a 100% gluten free cafe, and a must try in Santa Barbara. Not only do they have delicious gluten-free cakes, breads and treats, they also have some comfy meals like grilled cheese and tomato soup or waffles for breakfast.

McConnell’s Ice Cream

728 State Street & 120 State Street

Website | Instagram

Everywhere I go, I have to get some ice cream. And when I’m in Santa Barbara, I stop in at McConnell’s Ice Cream at least a couple times during my trip!

They have a delicious variety of gluten-free and dairy-free options. If you ask them what flavors are gluten free, they staff are always super helpful and make sure to use a clean scooper too.

O Bar + Kitchen

8301 Hollister Avenue

Website | Instagram

O Bar + Kitchen is about a 15 minute drive north of downtown Santa Barbara, but worth the drive! It is located at the Ritz Carlton Santa Barbara and offers delicious Latin cuisine with the most amazing ocean views. The staff were very knowledgeable about Celiac and made sure all the food was prepared separately and safely.
